Accessibility Statement

Bornstein Memory Training is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone on www.memorypower.com (the "Site") and applying relevant accessibility standards across our educational training systems, courses, and related content.

 

1. Our Commitment

We believe that education should be accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to ensure that our Site and Services are usable by people with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and other disabilities, and we work toward meeting or exceeding applicable accessibility standards across all components of our platform.

 

2. Conformance Standard

We aim for our Site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Conformance status varies by component of our platform, as described below.

 

3. Our Video Player

Video-based training content on our Site is delivered through a third-party video hosting player (Wistia). This video player has been independently audited by a third-party accessibility firm and certified to conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. This certification applies specifically to the video player itself — not to the surrounding pages, course platform, or other Site functionality (see Section 5, "Scope of This Statement").

The video player includes the following accessibility features:

  • Screen Reader Compatibility: Compatible with common screen readers, including VoiceOver (Apple), TalkBack (Android), and JAWS (Windows).

  • Keyboard Operability: Fully operable using a keyboard alone, with support for assistive technologies on both desktop and mobile.

  • High-Contrast Controls: Accessible default color contrast, with a customizable high-contrast color option.

  • Persistent Player Controls: Play, volume, settings, and caption controls remain visible and accessible throughout playback.

  • Thumbnail Alt-Text: Descriptive alt-text can be applied to video thumbnails.

  • Captions: Captions are available on our training videos, generated through an automated third-party captioning service. [Confirm and edit: describe whether captions are human-reviewed/corrected for accuracy, since automated captions can contain errors, particularly with technical or industry-specific terminology.]

  • Audio Descriptions: Our player supports audio-description audio tracks for videos where such tracks have been produced. [Confirm and edit: state which courses currently include audio-description tracks, if any, since these are not generated automatically.]

  • Multiple Player Languages: The video player interface can be displayed in multiple languages based on viewer selection.

  • Accessible Mobile Player: Includes high-contrast controls, skip-ahead/back functionality, and enlarged touch controls optimized for mobile use.

 

4. Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content or functionality on our Site may not yet be fully accessible. This includes:

  • Non-video course content: Quizzes, interactive assessments, downloadable materials (e.g., PDFs), enrollment and checkout forms, and other course platform features are not covered by the video player's WCAG 2.1 AA certification and may not yet meet the same standard.

  • Surrounding Site pages: Pages that embed or link to video content — including navigation, layout, and any course directory or library pages — are independently subject to accessibility testing and are not automatically covered by the video player's certification.

  • Third-party hosted surfaces: If any course content is hosted or browsed directly through the video provider's own hosting pages (e.g., a hosted channel or library page) rather than embedded on our Site, those pages have not been audited to the same standard as the player itself.

  • European accessibility standard (EN 301 549): Our video player has not been separately audited against EN 301 549. Its WCAG 2.1 AA certification is understood to substantially overlap with the web-content requirements of the EU's European Accessibility Act (EAA), but this has not been independently confirmed for our specific implementation.

  • Older materials: Legacy course materials created before current accessibility practices were adopted may not yet be updated.

We are actively working to test and improve these areas and welcome feedback to help us prioritize fixes.

 

5. Scope of This Statement

This statement distinguishes between:

  1. Our video player, which is independently certified to WCAG 2.1 AA by a third-party audit, and

  2. The rest of our Site and course platform (including forms, quizzes, PDFs, checkout, and navigation), which we are working to bring into conformance but which has not received the same independent certification.

We do not currently hold a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) or Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) covering our full platform. If you require a VPAT/ACR for procurement purposes, please contact us — we can share what documentation is available for the video player component and discuss our roadmap for the rest of the platform.

 

6. Ongoing Efforts

We are committed to improving accessibility across our full platform through:

  • Accessibility testing of non-video Site components (forms, quizzes, navigation, downloadable materials).

  • Human review of automated captions for accuracy, prioritized by course usage.

  • Producing audio-description tracks for priority course content.

  • Accessibility training for our design, development, and content teams.

  • Incorporating accessibility requirements into the development of new courses and features from the outset.

 

7. Third-Party Content and Tools

Our video-based training content is delivered via a third-party video hosting platform. While this component has been independently certified to WCAG 2.1 AA, other third-party tools, plugins, or embedded content used on our Site (such as payment processing or scheduling tools) have not been independently audited, and we cannot guarantee their full accessibility.

 

8. Feedback and Assistance

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our Site, video player, and training systems. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, need assistance accessing course content, or require materials in an alternative format, please contact us:

9. Formal Complaints
