In 1952 Arthur founded the Bornstein School of Memory Training in Los Angeles and built the most widely recognized learning system of its kind. An author, education pioneer, and familiar voice on radio and television, he spent his life proving a then-radical idea: memory is a trainable skill, not a gift you're born with. He taught it first to students, then to executives and salespeople, across the country and around the world.

Scott’s daughter, Ruth, is a clinical neuropsychologist with a doctorate from Columbia and a fellowship in neuropsychology and geropsychology at the San Francisco VA. Named a “rising star” by the National Institute of Health and the author of 25+ publications, she keeps the Bornstein Method grounded in what modern research actually confirms: the brain is trainable and memory responds to the right methods.
